Shop tax free in Austria

The VAT rate in Austria is 20% for standard products, 10% for food, books, pharmaceutical products and medicines. The minimum amount that you should spend to be eligible to claim your VAT refund is EUR 79.01. If you are older than 18 years old and your permanent residence is outside the EU, then you will be eligible for tax free shopping.
Please beware that the tax free service applies only to goods that are unused and exported in the traveller’s personal luggage
